India defeated Bangladesh in their third league match and reached the semi-finals. India became the first country to reach the next round.
Batting first Bangladesh scored a decent 138 runs in their 20 overs for the loss of seven wickets. India successfully chased the scored the required runs in 18.3 overs losing just two wickets in the process.
For India, Amit Mishra once again came good with the ball. He took three wickets and conceded 26 runs only. R Ashwin also took two wickets and was very economical as he gave away only 15 runs in four overs. And that’s why he was awarded the man of the match award.
For India, it was once again the batting that took India past the finish line. Rohit Sharma has once again came up with a half-century that guided India well. He scored 56 runs that set the platform for another Indian win. He scored the runs in 44 balls with the help of five fours and a six.
And the Mr. Consistent, Virat Kohli remained not out until the end. He scored 57 runs off 50 balls. And he hit three fours and one huge six in the innings.
Surprisingly, M S Dhoni promoted himself in the batting order and came in at number four. He played a cameo – for which he is known, of 22 runs in 12 balls. He hit just one four, but stroked two sixes to finish things off for India.
India plays their next match against Australia on Sunday.
